BIDMC received the Shining Star Research Award from the Massachusetts Health Council for the medical center’s groundbreaking work on COVID-19. The award honors the work of the medical center’s research community.
Mary Bouxsein, PhD, Director of the Center for Advanced Orthopedic Studies, received the 2021 Adele L. Boskey Esteemed Award for Bone and Mineral Research from the American Society of Bone and Mineral Research. The Award recognizes outstanding and major scientific contributions, leadership and mentorship in the area of bone and mineral research, especially in the areas of mechanisms of mineralization, bone mineral, bone quality, and mechanobiology.
Di Feng, PhD, Assistant Professor of Medicine, received an NIDDK R03 and Department of Defense Discovery Grant to support her ongoing work studying ACTN4 phosphorylation in Type I and Type II diabetic nephropathy.
Frank Slack, PhD, Shields Warren-Mallinckrodt Professor of Medical Research, was nominated for the Barbara J. McNeil Faculty Award for Exceptional Service at Harvard Medical School.
Derrick Tin, MD, Senior Fellow Disaster Medicine, was named by the Emergency Medicine Residents’ Association to their “25 under 45” Influencers in Emergency Medicine List.
