3D bioprinting ecosystem
Are you excited about hands-on biotechnology, experimental research, and the opportunity to learn new technologies that could help shape the future of regenerative medicine?
Polbionica is expanding its presence at LabCentral, and we are looking for a curious, hands-on scientist to join our team in a full-time position and carry out research in our lab space in Cambridge. You do not need previous experience in 3D bioprinting to apply. We are equally interested in candidates with a strong background in biotechnology, cell culture, biomaterials, tissue engineering, or other laboratory-based life science disciplines who are motivated to develop new skills.
Polbionica is a European biotechnology company based in Poland, with over 13 years of experience in developing advanced 3D bioprinting technologies and an integrated platform for regenerative medicine. We develop our own biomaterials using ISO 13485-certified processes, including extracellular matrix-based bioinks, innovative materials derived from natural polymers, and hybrid recombinant proteins.
We use these materials to bioprint organoids and perfusable tissue models for preclinical research. To support the long-term culture of bioprinted tissues, we have also developed our own perfusion bioreactor, which is commercially available worldwide. Today, Polbionica’s products are used in 12 countries, including the United States.
Our flagship project is the 3D-bioprinted Bionic Pancreas-ATMP® – a vascularized, living construct being developed as a potential future therapy for patients with severe type 1 diabetes and chronic pancreatitis. The project has successfully completed its preclinical development stage and is now being prepared for clinical evaluation.
As part of our team, you will contribute to ongoing research projects, perform hands-on laboratory experiments, and gradually develop practical expertise in our bioprinting technologies, biomaterials, cell culture methods, and perfusion systems. You will also help us expand Polbionica’s scientific activities at LabCentral and support the establishment of new research capabilities in Cambridge.
Experience in biotechnology, cell biology, cell culture, tissue engineering, biomaterials, 3D bioprinting, or a related life science field will be an advantage. However, previous bioprinting experience is not required. We provide comprehensive onboarding and hands-on training, and we encourage applications from candidates with strong laboratory skills, scientific curiosity, and the motivation to learn.
We are looking for someone who enjoys experimental work, approaches laboratory challenges with curiosity, takes ownership of assigned projects, and feels comfortable working in the fast-moving environment of an ambitious biotech startup.
Come experiment, learn, and build the future of regenerative medicine with us at LabCentral!
Please note that this is a full-time position. We are currently unable to offer visa sponsorship. We therefore welcome applications from candidates who are already authorized to work in the United States.
