Talk title: Maternal gut bacteria dictate offspring’s neurodevelopmental and immune-primed phenotypes.

Abstract: Along with genetic factors, environmental factors are critical contributors to inflammatory disorders such as inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs) and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism. Gut microbes are one of these non-genetic factors that define a threshold to either maintaining a homeostatic balance or developing diseases. I will discuss our ongoing efforts to dissect maternal gut microbes’ effects on influencing offspring’s immune and neurodevelopmental phenotypes.
