Welcome to the Graduate School Exploration page! Here you’ll find all of the events the Fall Career Fair Series will be hosting to help you in navigating graduate school applications. We’ll be hosting virtual events during the week of September 21st to September 25th(Career Exploration Week). More information on all of the events of the Career Exploration Week, including Graduate School Exploration events, is available. In addition, we’ve compiled a list of MIT resources available to you that will help in the process.

Brown Public Affairs Program Information Sessions

  • Brown University’s 1-year Master of Public Affairs degree prepares students to be public policy leaders, analysts, and advocates in government and the nonprofit and private sectors. The MPA program equips graduates with the quantitative, communication, and managerial skills necessary to address public challenges with evidence-based solutions. Join MPA Associate Director Olivia Whalen to learn about the MPA curriculum, admissions, merit aid, career opportunities, and student life. All sessions will cover the same material.

  • Graduate programs offered in Course 1 at MIT

    • Our graduate programs provide limitless possibilities at the frontier of knowledge and innovation. Graduate students in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering make a lasting impact in the world, as they launch careers in academia and industry, or become entrepreneurs. Learn more about the graduate programs in CEE from the faculty who oversee them. During this information session, you will learn about the CEE 9-month Master of Engineering, CEE Master of Science/Doctor of Philosophy, and the Interdepartmental Program in Transportation which offers a Master of Science in Transportation and a Doctor of Philosophy in Transportation. This session will review the internal application process for current MIT students and there will be time for questions.

    • MIT Sloan offering 3 early career opportunities! MBA Early Admission: Is an MBA in your 5 year plan? This application option secures your seat in a future MBA class and is perfect for ambitious college seniors who don’t yet have full-time work experience. Master of Finance: This 18-month STEM program prepares you for career opportunities in finance through global reputation, world-renowned faculty, and a rigorous approach to adaptive problem-solving. Master of Business Analytics: A 12-month STEM program focused on applying modern data science and machine learning to solve real-world challenges and integrate data insights across industries.

  •  Careers Combining a STEM Degree and a Law Degree

    • Berkeley Center for Law and Technology

    • Rapidly changing technology poses challenges to the law, while at the same time the law shapes how technology can be deployed. More than ever, our society needs lawyers who understand technology (and technologists who understand the law). Jim Dempsey, executive director of the Berkeley Center for Law & Technology, will describe the exciting career paths combining a STEM degree and a law degree. He will outline the curriculum and resources available at the UC Berkeley Law School and answer student questions about law school and legal careers at the intersection of law and technology.

  • MIT Pre-health Advising – Orientation to Exploring a Career in Medicine

    • Join Pre-health Advising for an overview of our services and how we assist first year students with exploring and pursuing a career in medicine.  Attendees will learn more about the prehealth experience at MIT, opportunities to connect with peers and alumni, and the many experiences you can engage in at MIT.
