FreeJoin us as the multidisciplinary team behind Lumicell’s groundbreaking technology to improve outcomes for cancer patients recounts their journey from Koch Institute Frontier Research Program seed funding through recent FDA-approval, as well as the personal experiences that inspire them.
Lumicell’s technology is designed to address the challenge of cancer cells left behind during tumor removal surgery. These residual cancer cells can lead to costly and invasive additional treatments, drive disease relapse and progression, and worsen patient quality of life and survival. Lumicell’s cost effective, real-time imaging system for eliminating even single residual cancer cells during surgery was FDA-approved last spring for initial application in breast cancer, and will greatly improve patient outcomes as it pursues application in several additional solid tumors.
