Dr. Alex Rivest once studied the brain circuits underlying episodic memory formation Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Now the Boston native has taken to the big screen to change the way the public sees scientists.
“We’ve all just lived through a moment when the world stopped because society could not grapple with science. This is a problem for an enterprise that is so fundamental to our understanding of where we belong in the universe and how to navigate a better, more sustainable future,” Dr. Rivest tells Science In Boston.
“I set out to create more heroes in science and elevate more scientists by telling some of the most amazing stories of curiosity, overcoming seemingly impossible odds, and bravery beyond what any of us can imagine. When I left academia, I set out to change the way science is seen in the media.”
