SUMMARY:2024 Rosamund Stone Zander Translational Neuroscience Center Symposium
DESCRIPTION:On Monday\, September 23\, 2024\, the Rosamund Stone Zander Translational Neuroscience Center (RSZ TNC) at Boston Children’s Hospital will host its fifth symposium entitled Paving the Path: Therapeutic Development Readiness for Rare Neurogenetic Disorders at Harvard Medical School’s Joseph B. Martin Conference Center. \nThis day-long event will highlight groundbreaking accomplishments from the translational neuroscience research community\, featuring prominent scientists from both academia and industry. The agenda includes a morning session focused on preclinical considerations\, an afternoon session highlighting biomarkers/endpoint development & clinical trial considerations\, and will close with an expert panel on community engagement and accessibility. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with key opinion leaders and discuss the future of therapeutic development for rare genetic disorders. Following the symposium\, we will host a cocktail reception celebrating the life and work of Rosamund Stone Zander. \nThis conference is open to individuals from academia\, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries\, patient advocacy groups\, and disorder-based foundations. Speakers will present in-person and registration includes options for either in-person or remote participation. There is no cost to attend the symposium. \nEstablished in 2013 and led by Dr. Mustafa Sahin\, the Translational Neuroscience Center at Boston Children’s Hospital received an unprecedented gift from philanthropist Rosamund Stone Zander in 2021. These funds provide transformational research funding and technical resources for investigators\, as well as advocacy\, community-building and educational programs for patients\, families and caretakers. \nDraft Agenda:\nClick here to download (PDF) \nWe hope you can join us for this special event! For any questions\, please reach out to the RSZ TNC team at TNC@childrens.harvard.edu.
