SUMMARY:A Conversation with Special Guest\, Dr. France Córdova\, President of Science Philanthropy Alliance
DESCRIPTION:Dr. France Córdova\, PhD\, President of the Science Philanthropy Alliance and a past Director of the National Science Foundation (NSF)\, is an internationally known astrophysicist. She was the youngest person and first woman to serve as NASA’s Chief Scientist; and was recognized as a 2000 Kilby Laureate for her contributions to society through science\, innovation\, and education. To broaden participation from traditionally underrepresented groups and to advance equity in STEM fields\, she launched NSF INCLUDES\, an initiative that has since been adopted by seven other government agencies including NASA and the NIH. In this fireside chat\, we will explore issues of equity\, diversity and leadership as they affect our personal and professional lives.
